Description
This is a photo of an area on a limber pine tree exposing the the wood of the tree after a large branch broke off the tree. The tree was located in Teton National Park. The limber pine, is a species of pine tree-the family Pinaceae that occurs in the mountains of the Western United States, Mexico, and Canada. It is also called Rocky Mountain white pine. imber pine is a slow growing, long-lived species, sometimes taking several hundred years to reach maturity. Mature trees may exceed 1000 years of age.
